Buliash Todaeva (1995) is a sustainable industrial designer and engineer. She received her Master’s degree from the National University of Science and Technology in Moscow, with a specialisation in technology and materials of digital fabrication. Previously, she graduated from the Faculty of Industrial Design at the Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry.
Before establishing her own sustainable product development laboratory, Zerowaste.lab in 2020, Todaeva gained professional experience in industrial and graphic design, as well as working as a tattoo artist for seven years. She is also a lecturer at the British Higher School of Art & Design in Moscow, as well as a curator and installation designer at recognised design events in Russia. As a political and
environmental activist, she was forced to leave Russia due to the war in Ukraine. She now lives in France, where she received her second master's degree from the Saint-Etienne School of Art and Design in 2023.
Since 2019, she has organised several educational workshops in the field of recycling and sustainability. She has also collaborated with Adidas, and delivered lectures at the Moscow Design Museum (2019), Woman Who Matters Forum (2020), St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (2021), Congress of Young Scientists (2021), and at the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art (2021), among others.
