A designer whose influence on international Art Nouveau was matched only by that of Emile Gallé.
He always looked at an interior as a whole. His invention of an iridescent, lustrous glass produced an
international breakthrough, bringing him instant fame. The products of his famous New York
manufactory were much sought after throughout the entire world. Peacock, Cypriote, Lava, Jack-inthe-
Pulpit, Gooseneck and Tell el Amama glassware were his most important designs. In addition to
ornamental and utility glass, he also produced a large number of leaded glass and stained glass.
