Porcelain designer-artist. He was born in Szentgál in 1954. In 1977, he graduated from the Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts (today: Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design) in porcelain design under master ceramicist Imre Schrammel. Since 1977, he has been a designer at the Herend Porcelain Manufactory, where he developed a completely new, light porcelain style consisting of thin pastel-coloured porcelain layers using a unique, original technology. In 1985, he was a founding member of the Herend Studio. In 1991-1992, he was a founding member of the TERRA Group. His most important professional distinctions include awards at the Korean Ceramics World Exhibition, Republic of Korea (2001); the National Ceramics Biennial, Pécs, Hungary (2002); the International Ceramics Festival, Mino, Japan (2008); and the PELSO National Ceramics and Tapestry Biennale (2009). He has also won the Hungarian Design Award (1982, 1993, 2002), the Order of Merit of Veszprém County (2009), and the Veszprém County Prima Award (2013). His works have been exhibited in numerous Hungarian and international exhibitions and can be found in several public collections.
