Sculptor and ceramist. He studied sculpture at the Royal Hungarian School of Applied Arts in
Budapest between 1883 and 1887. With a few brief interludes, he was employed by the Zsolnay
Factory between 1888 and 1942. He designed and executed show pieces, at the same time teaching in
the factory’s vocational school. His Art Nouveau designs were characterized by a melancholic mood
and the frequent occurrence of blurred forms.
