Architect, painter, designer. In 1885 he became the director of the ’’Kunstshule” in Nuremberg. The majority of his later designs were executed by a Norwegian-born metalworker, M. Berger. In addition to the traditional northern forms, their jewellery work was characterized by decorative motifs of the new style, the Art Nouveau.
