Ceramist. He was a member of a large family of ceramic artists working in Herend, Tata, Pest and
Kolozsvár. He learned the trade while working in the Budapest factory of his father, Ignác Fischer,
and also during his numerous journeys abroad, in England, among other places. He owned a porcelain
and glass shop in central Budapest. At the turn of the century he established a ceramics factory in
Angyalföld, which produced ornamented items made of porcelain and majolica with the participation
of eminent designers. Between 1915 and 1919 he went into a partnership with Count László Károlyi
to gain possession of the Hollóháza Porcelain Factory. In 1920 he established a new factory in Liget
utca, Budapest. After the closure of the factory in 1929 he acted as technical advisor to the Herend
Porcelain Factory.
