Ceramic and porcelain designer. He was born in Pécs in 1954. In 1969, he became a plaster mould maker at the Zsolnay factory in Pécs, where he worked for sixteen years; his closeness to the old Zsolnay ceramics shaped his way of thinking. He studied painting and sculpture privately under Pál Haraszti, Ferenc Lantos, and Tibor Csiky. After 1985, he turned his attention to porcelain. After 1989, he began exploring architectural ceramics. In 1993, he was one of the founders of the DeForma Group and gave the group its name. From 2008 to 2010, he was a visiting lecturer in the Department of Ceramics at the Glasgow School of Art, and since 2011, he has been a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (AIC-IAC, Geneva). His most important professional distinctions include awards at the National Ceramics Biennial, Pécs, Hungary (1986, 1988, 1992, 1994, 2000, 2006) and the Noémi Ferenczy Prize (2020). His works can be found in numerous public and private collections in Hungary and abroad (Greece, Scotland).
