Dalpayrat, Pierre-Adrien (1844 - 1910)

French ceramist and porcelain painter. He worked for a number of porcelain manufactories. In 1889
he teamed up with the sculptor Alphonse Voisin- Delacroix (1857-1893) to found a ceramics
workshop at Bourg-la-Reine. The art department of the Dalpayrat & Lesbros company, which
operated between 1893 and 1905, first showed its works to the public, both at home and abroad, in
1892. During the 1910s Maurice Dufréne was among the designers the company employed. P.-A.
Dalpayrat’s brothers - Adolphe (1871-1934), Paul (1885-1924), Albert and Hyppolite - also worked
for the firm. Their ceramic products enjoyed great success at the Chicago Design Exhibition in 1893
and at the Paris International Exhibition of 1900. The company produced ceramic objects for La
Maison Modeme.
