Cabinetmaker. After graduating from the Glasgow School of Art in 1880, John Crawford worked (starting in 1881) with his brother George. They were responsible for carvings on many buildings now of historic status. Such are the carvings on the block of flats at 12 Glasgow University Gardens, the woodcarvings and altar of Skelmorlie Parish church, and the roof truss of Glasgow Cathedral.
