Bugatti, Carlo (1855 - 1940)

Italian painter and furniture designer. His furniture was characterized by forms and ornamental motifs borrowed from Islamic art, thus earning him a unique place in Western European art. His works were displayed at the exhibition of Italian designers, held in London in 1888, as well as at the Paris International Exhibition of 1900 and the Turin International Arts and Crafts Exhibition of 1902. His designs were frequently published by the contemporary press.
