Industrial and porcelain designer. He was born in Miskolc in 1986. In secondary school, he studied architecture, graphic arts, and metalwork design. In 2012, he graduated from the Institute of Applied Arts of the University of West-Hungary with a degree in industrial design and a specialisation in ceramics. He interned at the International Ceramics Studio in Kecskemét. He produces limited series of jewellery, objects for everyday use, and decorative items, typically out of porcelain, using handcraft techniques. His brand, Balázs Botos Design, produces works that stand out not only because of their basic functionality but also because of their ingenious shapes, humorous names, or bright colours. His work has been exhibited at numerous exhibitions in Hungary and abroad. In 2020, his jewellery collection Iceland was selected for the show of the international Zero Negative competition at Budapest Jewelry Week. In 2022, his brand was a part of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency’s fourth design START mentoring programme.
