The prismatic chest stands on four jutting claw feet. The front edges are decorated with carved masks the front panel shows intarsia of foliated and voluted grotesques, embracing a heraldic animal: a dog rampant. The profiled top is also of foliate intarsia. Companion pieces can be found in the Wawel in Krakow this one has a similar composition and grotesques, although with another heraldic animal in the middle and in the St. Petersburg Hermitage.
