The sideboard rests on a rectangular base. Its two- door bottom part is high, divided by two shelves inside. The centre of the doorwings is decorated with long, standing rectangular panels of ebony inlays. The top part is narrower and shorter, with open shelves and a folding door in the middle. All doors are mounted with brass stylized floral motifs and keyhole shields. The mounts of the bottom part start from the hinges. This sideboard was made for the 1900 Christmas exhibition, designed by Horti, made by Pál Tálos. By that time Horti had already abandoned the clumsiness of revival styles. With this cupboard, he focused on comprehensive, well-designed construction instead of superficial surface decoration. The ornaments are reserved, simple and clear lines. The Hungarian elements of the mounts are only symbolic (and, contrary to the design, they are not painted blue).
