The grandson of Mór Fischer, Jenő Farkasházy Fischer bought back the Herend porcelain manufactory from the state in 1896, in the year of the millennium. In the first years of his work, he followed the traditional Herend shapes and ornaments. He created rare and enduring work with his Art Nouveau shapes and high-fired glazes. On this item of artwork, he applies plastic and vivid plant ornaments on the coloured body in a different colour. He frequently recalled Oriental vases, decorating them with colourful glazes melting into one another or covering them with lustred celadon glazes or crystal glazes to achieve dynamic, occasional and unique artistic surfaces.
