Balázs Sipos’ works entitled Nő almával (Woman with Apple) is a glass sculpture, which is ingenious both in terms of form and content, effortlessly merges positive and negative spaces, using the technique of casting. The biblical scene of the Fall is represented by the figure of a woman, a femme fatale with a snake’s head, holding in her hand the forbidden fruit, which is (perhaps) still intact. The air bubbles in the material of the optical glass and the interplay of the surfaces, matte ground and polished, deepen the interpretive layers of the scene.
