The tureen stands on four hoofed legs it is decorated with a moulded rocaille decoration, which is sometimes referred to as being "bizarre" or "fantastic". There are scroll handles on the two sides. The finial of the ribbed, wavy, umbrella- shaped cover is a scroll tip. The bowl, as well as the cover, is painted with bunches of roses and small scattered flowers in manganese violet, blue, green, yellow and brown. Marked on the bottom: C/G, with HE below, in grey.
