The elements of the set are characterized by the small, round feet, ball-shaped bodies and Baroque-style, dolphin handles. The painted decoration was designed by Júlia Zsolnay, the daughter of Vilmos Zsolnay, following Persian models.
According to the signed and dated design in the Janus Pannonius Museum in Pécs (Inv.No. A 61.451.1), it was made on March 1st, 1881 (façon number 785, decor number 715).
The cups and saucers show three-lobed medallions of a stylized flower stem, two pinks, two tulips and a pomegranate flower in symmetrical arrangement, painted in green, yellowish-brown and pink colours against the white base. On the teapot, the medallion has only two lobes with the same motifs. The fields between the medallions are decorated with arabesques in pink and greenish glaze. The stylized dolphins are painted in pink, the contours and the dragons are lined with gold.
