The round base and the cylindrical stem are decorated with masks. The bottom of the flat hemispherical bowl is chased, the cylindrical upper part is engraved with three scenes from the Old Testament: The sacrifice of Abraham, Joshuah and Jacob, The daughters of Lot.
The pictures follow the woodcuts of Bernard Salomon, which were made for the Bible published in Lyon in 1553. (These compositions were also used in German editions of the Bible.) The cups are marked.
