A line of alternating motifs of two-handled, flower-like vases with birds sitting on tendrils, or with lions, runs along the borders of the tablecloth, framed with lilies. Scattered larger and smaller crowns in the middle. Its size and the elegance of the embroidery and the fabric suggest that it was probably a christening blanket.
