Two of the three boxes are identical, one is smaller. All of them have cylindrical bodies, decorated with a frieze of rosettes and foliage at the bottom. The top is lined with two strings of pearl stripes, with an escutcheon in between, showing the initials A E. The cover is lined by palmettes, while the medallion with a chased floral wreath in the middle shows the same fluted escutcheon with the initials A E. Marked on the bottom and on the inside of the cover, with impressed city, quality and maker's mark: Cahier. There is an accompanying rectangular toilette box in the collection of the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts (IMM Inv.No. 56.1395, Cat. No. 2.1.1).
