A couple sitting beside an obelisk that is surmounted by an ornamental vase. There is a leafless tree close to the obelisk. The male figure is sleeping with arms folded, cradling himself in a rocaille motif. There is a sleeping dog at his feet. The female figure turns her head towards him, trying to disturb his sleep with singing and playing the xylophone. Marked at the front of the top of the obelisk: an impressed shield of a slanted rhomboid shape, in a golden frame.
