The figure is hanging on the cross by his right hand stretched backwards, his left hand raised above his head, his body is contorted. His eyes are fixed on the sky, his mouth is open. With his raised left leg he feels for a support. He wears a loincloth. Together with its companion piece (Cat. 1.43.) and with the figure of Christ on the cross, it might once have been part of a Crucifixion group.
