At the foot of the cross the body of Christ rests in the Virgin's lap, and an angel embraces her from the left. Below, a sitting angel holds the right hand of Christ on the right a standing angel kisses his left hand. There are clouds around the cross, and small angels. In the background the walls of Jerusalem and a building can be seen. Its pair is Cat. 1.3., the Deposition.
