Plaque - allegory of Horticulture (L'Horticulture)

Front: Two young women pruning the rose bush that springs from a flower pot between them, with trees in the background. Back: A naked child sits in a flowery meadow under a tree on the right, holding a bunch of flowers in its hands. Most of the surface is left blank for inscriptions. Three of Daniel-Dupuis's plaques were bought by the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts at the 1900 Paris International Exhibition: apart from «Horticulture», «Source» (La Source) and «The Nest» (Le nid) were also among them, see Radisics 1901 No.45 - Szmrecsanyi 1901 p. 114 and p.123 (ill.) - Cat 1905b No. 1025. The first two are set in the table shade with Inv.No. 54.1288. Some copies of «Horticulture» can be found in the Medal Collection of the Hungarian National Museum, Inv.Nos. 50/935-70 (silver) and 50/935-71 (bronze).
