Seal

The upper part of the seal is a male bust, with repousse shell and leaf motifs on his chest. The bearded head is made of terracotta the turban is carved of bone and coral. The whole surface of the bust is covered with set turquoise and almandine the cylindrical plinth is silver-gilt, engraved with leaves and scrolls. The seal itself is also cylindrical, made of jointed, bluish-brownish red jasper, with an engraved and yet unidentified coat of arms: a deer rampant on a seven-pointed coronet, leaning its front legs to a tree.

The maker of this eclectic seal was probably incited by the bizarre objects of virtue made in the eighteenth century, usually of precious metal, decorated with precious stones.
