Övcsat

This is an extremely early piece of Neo-Renaissance in Hungarian metalwork. Its shape and decoration resembles a door knocker the technique is traditional, made individually. The clasps consist of two separate parts, fixed with a stirrup clasp. The central, round field shows a lion head with a ring in its mouth. Two oval parts joint the central one in a horizontal direction, with twisted, acanthus leaf decoration. The rim of the clasps is wavy, lined with a jagged line.
