Oval plate with wavy rim, on the broad rim with naturalistic chased fruit, scroll and foliage ornaments and five birds. In the bowl is a figural scene with the same technique: one of the battles of Alexander the Great. The composition has a stylistic resemblance with the works of Rubens.
According to recent literature the master's mark on it was used by Isaak Warnberger, who had been active in Augsburg between 1670-1678. (Helmut Seling: Die Kunst der Augsburger Goldschmiede, 1529-1868: Meister, Marken, Werke. München, 1980, Bd. 3., 228-229. Nr. 1699.).
This ornamental plate must have been attributed to this master.
