Oval shaped, sloping foot with a wavy rim, and cast and applied ornaments on the fields: naturalistic figures of fish, sea-snails, and turtles. It has a figural stem: a Neptune figure standing on a sea-horse, with a shell in his left hand and a harpoon in his raised right hand. The setting is made of cast mouldings decorated with stylized sedges, a female herm and a lion masque. The cover is decorated with a cast figure of Cupid, standing on his right leg, holding a bow and an arrow in his hand. It may assumed, that the two detailed descriptions of the 1693 and 1696 inventories of the Esterhazy treasury in Frakno (the former may be considered the earliest written mention of the work) apply to it: "Scyphus ex integra Conc(h)a marina Argento inclusus, in parte inferiori a Neptuno sustentatus, cum suo (C) operluco Cupidinem portante", and "Poculum ex conc(h)a marina deaurato argento in- clusa, cum effigie Cupidinis in Superiori, in inferiori vero partibus Neptuni" (OL The Archives of the Ducal Line of the Esterhazy Family.
