On the uncoloured leaf are three coloured engravings printed on oval-shaped pieces of silk atlas. The middle one depicts children playing: a little boy kneeling is releasing a mouse from a birdcage opposite him his companion holds back a dog. Behind them two little girls look on. On either side there is one and the same engraving: a young girl is striking a tambourine she holds behind her head. Between the engravings is ornamentation made up of antique elements and small oval- and rhombus-shaped medallions among festoons of pearls and flowers. These medallions feature with blue-and-white, Wedgwood-influenced painting and depict two female figures and an amphora. These Wedgwood-type medallions also feature among the very small pierced embellishments on the sticks. There are fans of a similar type in an English private collection and in the collections at the Hermitage, St. Petersburg and the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum. Earlier exhibited as French work.
