The two side panels are decorated with male herms, supporting the horizontal arm. The chest could be used for both storing and sitting or lying. It can be opened by a folding seat. The front shows among acanthus leaves in the middle of an escutcheon a heraldic animal: a white goat holding an upturned tree. The goat is probably the heraldic animal of the Garázda- Teleki family. The arm rests and the back-support have a top border of carved foliage. The back is decorated by inlays with rounded-up corners. The carved acanthus tendrils show the influence of the school of sculpture at Gyulafehérvár, which had direct Italian contacts. The fighting herms in front of Ionic pilasters show Southern German influence, which reached Transylvania through the Saxon settlers.
