The board is framed by oriental foliage. The corners have crossed horns of plenty the round medallion in the middle has an inscription referring to the original content: M.T.C./ EPIST.FAM. The back plate has a cupid figure, with closed eyes, firing an arrow. The seven-band back is decorated with foliage. There is a similar piece, with the same cupid decoration on the back board, a book by Cicero published by Manutius in 1519.
