Both of the boards have narrow borders, scattered triple dots, and oriental arabesques in the middle and in the corners. The inner border of the boards is a simple gilded line. Gilded incisions. Earlier the book was thought to be of Venetian origin however, the scattered dots and the middle decoration are identical with a similar book made in a Paris workshop, according to I. Schunke (cf. Schunke, 1974 p.67, fig. 15).
