In each corner of the kerchief is a coiling tendril in a vesica- shape wreath of leaves, on either a red or a green background. The tendril ends in a flower of drop petals and a high stamen in the middle of the scroll is a rose, a tulip and some leaves with serrated edges. A typical Turkish motif characteristic of the metal thread embroidery on Turkish caparisons. The main feature of this motif is that there is a smaller flower, embroidered with a different technique, in the middle of a bigger one. On Hungarian linen embroidery the inner decoration is further brought out by means of the coloured silk embroidery of the background.
