The bun-shaped bowl stands on a rimmed base and ends in a cylindrical neck. The top and the neck are decorated with string motifs the curving handle is fixed to the neck and the top of the bowl. The turning tin lid joins the handle. There is stylized foliage with fruit in a field framed by green and red stripes and white undulating lines. The neck and upper rim are decorated with a line of white dots. There is an inscription, painted in yellow, around the neck: ANNO: 1615. Béla Borsos mentions the piece described above as an example of the Haban influence on Hungarian glassmaking according to him, it was made in Transylvania, together with two other cobalt glass jugs of the collection of the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts (see Cat. No. 546.) Imre Katona has also described these jugs as Transylvanian (cf. Katona 1983a, pp. 64- 66).
