Glass sculpture - Bronze gate

The block-like sculpture of pieces of plateglass glued together on a regular trapezoidbase has its surfaces ground and polished. Between the layers of glass it is sand blastedand metal steamed, which results in the bronze-hued geometric pattern of a row ofgates in perspectivically decreasing sizes. Marked at the bottom of the right side: Bohus 96. The gate as a theme has inspired theartistto create several works. The earliestpiece of the searies is Gods’ Gate of 1989, followed by several variations in the 1990s. Illusory interior spaces open inside theseglass blocks, visualizing an incomprehensible mystic world. The piece in the museumcollection dates from 1996. It was exhibited in Madrid in 2005, in Hollabrunn, Austriain 2007, and in the artist’s one-man show in Zalaegerszeg in 2008.
