The frame of the mirror forms a vertical rectangle it starts from a double, curved base and is fit-ted into a stand. The mirror can be adjusted and swung by crews. The frame is higher than the stand, which is equipped with adjustable, hinged candle-holders of gilt bronze, on the two sides. (The contemporary French name of this type was "psyche rectangulaire").
