The silver rim of the oval foot is painted with an enamel belt the gilt plinth is decorated with mythological scenes. The centre of the feet has a domed, engraved hole. The stem depicts a silver gilt figure of a young man in sixteenth century German clothes, holding a sickle and an ear of corn. The glass parts are carved, the splaying rim is enamel painted over the silver gilt base, with polychrome foliage on the outside and mythological scenes on the inside. The centre is engraved with a silver gilt rosette.
