The uncoloured leaf is framed by a gold-stripe and running dog motif. On it, changing from fold to fold, are perpendicularly arranged embellishments: wavy lines of spangles, love symbols on ribbons, flowers in vases, and straight lines of spangles. Similarly, wavy and straight lines of spangles alternate on the sticks. The case, which has a top that pulls off, is covered with red paper. On it on one side is a coat of arms—damaged and therefore incapable of interpretation—pressed onto sealing wax, with the following motto: MENS IMMOTA MAN[E]T = The mind remains unmoved.
