The case is of a cartouche-shape, with a relief decoration on top: three dogs in rocky scenery, with flowery branches on the sides and a scroll acanthus ornament at the bottom. The bulging dial has two arms it is marked in majuscules: GUILLAUME GILLE A PARIS.
