The relatively large bookmark, due to its size, could in fact hardly serve as a real ex libris. However, it was a good opportunity for the designer to reveal his mastery of drawing. In the centre of the triptych-like composition there are figures playing music. The picture suggests an idyllic atmosphere, the female figures remind us of the ideals of the Pre- Raphaelites.
