The decoration of the two boards create one picture together: a platan trunk and leaves, inlaid with two shades of brown, against a red base. The doublure of the plates are lined by gilt, strongly stylized flower stems. The endpaper is colour-printed with poppy stems. The red-yellow-green headband is machine- woven. The edges are gilt. Notebooks decorated with similar motifs, also designed by Rudolf Boros were exhibited by Gottermayer at the 1898 Christmas exhibition. Thus, we may suppose that the album was made more or less the same time as the notebooks.
