The tapering, deep bowl of a splaying rim is sup-ported by a round, lobed foot that is covered with opaque glass on the inside and is pierced by faceting like lace. The stripe running along the middle part of the body is shaped of a blown and etched layer, covered with cobalt blue glass. The inscription PAX VIVAT BELLUM NON is joint to the basic body with peg-like extensions. There is an antique frieze of palmets between the inscription and the foot.

The technique, and partly the shape of the object follow the Roman vasa dietreta. In his comprehensive study on glass industry (Die Glasindustrie: Ihre Geschichte, gegenwärtige Entwicklung und Statistik, Stuttgart, 1874), L. Lobmeyr, the outstanding Austrian representative of glass industry appreciated Pantocsek's dishes exhibited at the Vienna exhibition, and modelled on the vasa diatreta, decorated with a separate, faceted circular inscription. Lobmeyr also mentioned that the first dishes were exhibited by Pantocsek in 1866, and then two of these - with Latin and Hungarian inscriptions - were offered for King Francis-Joseph and Queen Elizabeth, on the occasion of the coronation ceremonies in 1867 in Buda. (Lobmeyr 1874, p. 197).
