Cylindrical shape, expanding slightly towards the top. The engraved decoration consists of leaf and flower motifs, and three allegorical female figures: Envy, Misfortune and the Victory of Christianity. The figures arc exact copies of woodcuts made by Renaissance Nuremberg masters: 1: Georg Pencz (B 141.) 2-3: Hans Sebald Beham (B. 128, 130). The juxtaposition of these three allegories is hard to explain - they are probably part of a specialised iconography. The ornaments arc typical of the drawings of the early 16th century Netherlands.
