The lace shows a typical Hungarian plant motif, the paprika. The red paprika heads spring from slightly curved, leaved stems, bent to the side. The strength of the drawing is stressed by the black contours, and also by the network of lace stitches, which, typical of the early laces, play only a secondary role in the decoration.
