The slightly flattened, hemispherical cup is sup-ported by a hollow baluster stem that stands on a short foot, conically rising in the centre. There is an opaque white line of spots half centimetre below the top rim, with a lambrequin-like row of scales shaped of thin, scratched gold foil below. The semi-circular contours of the scales are emphasized by opaque white spots. In the centre of the scales there are green spots, surmounted by a row of blue and red spots.
The form and the decoration of the object follows the traditions of Renaissance Baroque glass from Venice-Murano it was probably a part of a set, as it is proved by the bottle with identical decoration, also in the collection of the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts (Inv.No. 1035).
