The front and back panels serve as legs. The front one is decorated with a mask of a winged angel's head and clawed feet. It is joined to the plain back panel by a stretcher. There is a fluted carved frieze under the front part of the octagonal seat. The trapezoid back support is decorated with foliage and two female herms, which support the top cornice of star support and egg motifs. Companion pieces can be found in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and in the ex- collection of Heilbronner in Berlin.
