This nineteenth-century desk stands on four lathed legs. The cabinet consists of two parts: a cube-shaped larger and a curved smaller storage section in the middle small compartments and drawers are located around a door. The doors are encompassed by green and yellow marble pillars with ormolu bases and Corinthian orders. On the front of the doors and drawers landscapes with ruins are varied with semi-precious stone inlays depicting flowers and birds. Millefiori is a glass technique from the Hellenistic Egypt. Clamped glass threads of various colours are chopped flowers, birds and other shapes are placed into the molten glass. On this cabinet the pietra dura technique of Florentine origin is combined with sliced marble and the depiction of ruins typical of Augsburg. At the present stage of research Bohemia, especially the Prague region can be considered as the place of manufacture.
