The brooch resembles Italian Renaissance jewels, with seven pear-shaped parts arranged ray-like in a semicircle, painted in blue and white and red translucent enamel at the semicircular end. In the centre, there is a cast putto head in a slightly domed, ringed setting. The parts are connected with small balls surrounded with thin, twisted wire. The bottom is equipped with plain, undecorated balls hanging down.
