The rectangular body has a hinged top and a curved handle on the sides and on the top. The edges and the rims are covered with a continuous silver ornamentation, the other surfaces are decorated with applied, stylised tendrils and plants in a symmetrical arrangement. A similarly shaped and decorated but smaller piece is published - with the same identification - by the auction catalogue of the Viennese Dorotheum: Uhren und Antiquitäten.
