The front and back boards are connected with the ornaments that imitating mounts and clasps, following the position of the three bends. They end in almond-shape fields, with flying bird applications (the 1902 catalogue called these ornaments the «birds of time»). The cover plate is enriched with a curving, flowery rose stem springing from a heart motif. Similar rose stem with one blossom decorate the spine, which also bears the title in the second compartment. The endpaper is painted in black against a grey background, with vine tendrils springing from heart motifs. The headband is sewn with green.
